About

A workshop, not an agency.

MettleForge is founder-led. Every project runs through the person whose name is on the work — no account managers, no hand-offs to a junior you never met.

Why this exists

Small businesses keep buying websites that don’t work and tools that don’t talk.

The pattern is always the same. A site that looks fine and does nothing. Five subscriptions doing the job of one system. An owner retyping the same customer into three apps at 9pm, because that’s the part no vendor wanted to own.

MettleForge exists because the owner of a twelve-person business deserves the same machinery the big ones have — sized right, built once, owned outright. Not an agency retainer that renews itself. A system that works.

So the shop stays small on purpose. Fewer projects, taken seriously, finished properly. The audit is free, the blueprint is yours regardless, and if the work doesn’t earn the project, we shake hands and you keep the plan.

What we refuse to build

What we refuse to build

Template churn
A theme with your logo on it is not web development. If a $40 template solves your problem, we’ll tell you — and you should buy the template.
Dashboards nobody reads
Reporting exists to answer one question: what should I do next? If a chart doesn’t change a decision, it doesn’t ship.
Systems that need us forever
If it only runs while we’re in the room, we haven’t finished. Dependence is not a retention strategy.
AI for its own sake
Chat is one part of a system, and rarely the important one. We add an agent where it removes real work, not where it makes a demo look good.
Invented numbers
If we can’t show it or explain it, we don’t claim it. That standard applies to our case studies before it applies to yours.
What durable means

What durable means

Documented
Plain-English documentation a non-technical owner can actually read. You understand what you own.
Standard parts
Built on standard connections, not glue code hidden in one person’s head. If a tool changes, we swap the part — not the machine.
Yours
Full access, keys handed over, no hostages. Walk away any time and the system walks with you.
Still working
The real test is eighteen months out, when nobody’s watching. Built once. Still working.
Next step

Start with the audit. Keep the blueprint either way.
